Summer Reading post 4

What really drew me to this book was the tittle. I was at the store and had barely enough time to skim the list. The tittle really jumped out at me saying a bold statement “I AM THE MESSENGER”. It was between I Am the Messenger and Looking for Alaska. I had known that Markus Zusak was a known author so I went with him. After picking up the book and reading the back cover I had a good idea I would enjoy the book. And I’m not going to lie I did. But there were parts I did not like. I did not like in the beginning when he was very focused about sex. However the rest of the books awesome plot and plot twists literally left me thinking hard at the end. Who would I recommend this book to? Anyone over the age of 13 who likes a good book with very nice character development and loves a good mystery with a few plot twists (the book has a few). There were necessarily slow parts which I got sick of fast. But in the end it made for a much better story plot. Overall I enjoyed this summer reading project! I learned to love a new kind of book as well.

Summer Reading (post 3)

My book: I Am the Messenger has a few excellent “hooking” parts that are kind of sprinkled through the book. The first chapter got me hooked enough to read for a few more then he receives the first “card “and I got hooked more etc. A good example pf the first few hooks go as shown. Ed is involved in stopping a back robbery becoming a little bit more known. Ed receives a playing card in the mail with three addresses and three times on them. He ends up helping a teen with stress, helping an old woman with her Alzheimer’s and stopping a rape case. The book and plot starts to slow down a little and focusing more on the characters and their relationships. Ed has a huge crush on Audrey which may or may not develop into something more (not giving spoilers) and he and his friends come closer. Then he receives another card, (I don’t want to give away too much about this one.) The biggest part of the whole book is the last card. At each address or place or riddle there has been someone he has to help, someone in need, or someone who he helped change, the last address, is his.

My main character, Ed Kennedy is very complex, but at the same time very simple. He is obsessed with finding out his mission, and who is sending him on this crazy hunt of cards. He is in love with his best friend, Audrey. He desperately wants to have sex with her. In fact this is a main topic of the story. He is always talking about how he is trying to get her in bed, or dreaming about them conforming as one. A constant theme is that each address that he goes to he learns something new about himself. Whether it’s that sex isn’t everything or that being hard on people isn’t always the answer. He learns about himself and the world around him.  He loves his dog and he is starting to learn more about Ed as well. The dog is becoming closer and closer to Ed as the story goes on. Also Audrey’s character is developing quiet well.  You learn about her past what she is doing and what she wants to do in the future. Ed is learning compassion by helping an old lady. Bravery by stopping a rapist, and humanity by helping an over worked girl.

My book is I AM THE MESSENGER by Mark Zusak

The most major character in my book so far is Ed Kennedy. Ed is the main character in my story. He is a 19 year old cab driver. For a long time his life is boring. He has a small group of friends who likes to play cards. Really the only thing he has accomplished is partly stopping a bank robbery. Then one day he gets a card in the mail. Not a card from a store, a playing card. The card is the ace of diamond. The card has three addresses and three times on it. They read: 

45 Edgar Street, midnight

13 Harrison Avenue, 6 PM

6 Macedoni Street, 5:30 am.

Confused Ed tries to figure out what he is supposed to do.

After a few days of consideration Ed decides to go to the first address. What he finds there is shocking. He witnesses a rape case. He parks away from the house and sees a man. He is pushing and suffocating a screaming woman. He then rips her clothes off and pushes her in the door. This happens every day, for the past year. He is conflicted.

Krista Ramsey part2. Krista has came to our High School! Unfortunately i was not able to attend her speech/ Q&A. I did however get to watch a video of the entire presentation. I enjoy her columns every time i read them.

The proving

For my father is writing and is far in the process of writing and publishing a fantasy novel. It is about a young group of adults who all discover they have different powers and come together to save the day from the evil people. I really am not describing it as good as it supposed to be. the book is set in another universe in more medival times as we would describe it. The proving is the first book in the series of the Tome of passaron.

For I have only read the first four chapters of this books adventure. So far i have met two of the 12 main characters Argan and Kossin. They were hiking through the woods when they realized they were being hunted down by thugs. with amazing skilll kossin struck each one with throwing knives in a swift movement then hit an arrow out of mid air as well.

People Magazine?

So i have been embarking on a Series of Magazines called People Magazine. This Magazine has been labeled as a Feminim only book. But There is acttually a lot of cool and intresting facts and information in People! The Magazine has been a while now.

Did you know that Burger king saved Robert Downy Juniors life?  Most do not even know that he had a drug addiction in the past anyway.

                      

Sherlock!

I have recently been watching a tv show on BBc called Sherlock. It is a modern day Sherlock holmes series. I am on the last episode of the newest season and i am really excited to see what happens, I was watching the episode The empty hearse, and i realized it said "Based off the work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle" I will not lie, I had no idea who he is/was.                     (Do you like the idea of Sherlock Holmes or crime solving? Whats your favorite book genre? Let me know in the comment section below!)

 I went on to my laptop and did what i thought would be a quick search on him. I found pages and pages of information written about him. website after website, because he wrote the original Sherlock! I was seriously impressed that the Sherlock Holmes books were real! Most of his nemisis are in his books as well! Moriarty really is ann evil oppisiote of sherlock in this book! I am planning to soon actually read some real life Sherlock Holmes books! I am super motivated and pumped to do so. I am also going to try to work on my blog qaulity! thanks for reading this post! Ive been book hopping...

An alien adventure where one girl is the key? A group of teens with amaizing super hero like  skills? These have both been in diferent books that i have been reading and jumping between and abonding others at times. I really am looking for a solid series i could read. I enjoy the MAximum ride, alex rider and anything my Margret peterson haddix.

Hey guys its Jeremy and this is my post on the very so talented writer. Kristina Ramsey. The article I read went pretty much like this; A young basketball player in a high school is in court for committing a crime with two of his friends. His Basketball coach was with him since the beginning of high school and is still with him every step of his life in court and time in the juvenile detention center during his trial.Here is the article "But maybe what they need most of all is to realize they're needed To realize if they're gone – to incarceration or to violence – they've left a hole in the fabric of something. A family, a team, the heart of a coach who won't walk away" The impact left on the reader makes you even as a reader like I have potential. The diction is more casual or laid back. The syntax is regular with the occasional dash and comma. Ramsey's writing style reminds me of a mothers perspective on just about everything. The way she positively thinks about the basketball sticking wit his player. The way she wishes the youth will start to dress nicely or get off technology a little bit more.

I have read and enjoyed a wide variety of books in my last couple of years. Some of the best authors I myself have ever read are Margrett Peterson Haddix, and James Patterson. Haddix has written multiple series and to this day I have read every one of her boojks. She has A LOT of books.James Patterson wrote the Maximum Ride blog which all of you who read my blog know I LOVE.

I love e-books! first update on Cut.

Hey guys I'm back and I am doing fantastic. I would just like to say that e-books have made my life so much easier when it comes to getting and reading books. It can take me up to 10 minutes to find download and start reading a new series, which they usually have the whole series.      I recently started reading a real paper book as well, titled Cut. I have to say so far I am enjoying it. the plot so far is our main character Callie cuts herself, well before she went to rehabilitation. Now shes in sea Pines a residential treatment facility. She has barely spoken to anyone so far since she has gotten to sea Pines. she is also surrounded by other people who are fighting their own battles. I am predicting that Callie will open up to some of the other girls in the facility.

For you mrs. palmer Maximum Ride: Schools out forever.

I read this book called Schools out forever. its the second book in my series which is pretty cool. The main idea flowing through the book and the series is no matter what true family prevails no matter what. the book is very good so far. the plot development is clearly over the past book and is continuing into the third book which is what im reading now.

   The story line of Maximum ride schools out forever is that they had just recently left new York and were on there way to look for there lost parents when Fang the oldest boy got cut by Ari who is an eraser (Wolf Human Avian hybrid).  Fang started to bleed out do to the cut that ripped open many artery's and one of his air sacks. A man who was walking past them noticed it and instantly called 911. there the FBI came and interviewed each one of them and of course each one of them lied and said the same not true story about how there parents were missionaries and left them while they were on vacation. Then you meet Anne. Who claims to be the head of the FBI. She instantly calls there bluff and decides to take them all under her roof and  care for them like the mother they never had, well except for Iggy. After they lived with Anne for about a month they thought they knew where Iggy's parents were so they took him to them. As it turns out They really were Iggy's parents so he agreed to move back in with them. Later in the book they all decide to leave Anne's house and right before there about to leave Iggy joins them and tells about how they were going to sell him and his story for millions of dollars, they only loved him for the money. Now things get complicated.


As they are leaving Jeb who has a high position with the School (an evil place where kidnapped infants are taken to be transformed genetically into whatever they want.) shows up with all of the erasers and Angel flies down and Jeb says i would like you to meet my boss he said then Anne the one they trusted turned out to be the evil mastermind all along. Now things got really crazy, but you know ill save that for another blog post :).

Monster. Further updates

I have new updates on the Freaking best book i've read in a while, Monster. There has been some new recent information and data that was exposed and i thought i would do a update blog about it. The main character claimed he was not involved in any way of the crime that was committed on December 24th.

Monster

       This book is the bomb diggity. Its the most interesting book Ive read in quite a while. Its about a guy who gets framed for a crime he did not commit. Its his epic journey facing life in prison the court and facing his family. He has to decide which road he will take, one mistake and he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

       The book itself is written in the form of a movie and the idea is that Steve (our main character) is writing everything that happened in real time and word for word. I like this style of writing because it changes it up making it very unique. also the author (Walter Dean Myers) is excellent at describing and portraying the struggles of young black people.

News articles and Advertisement.

      Many Peurtoricans are fighting to become part of the united states. "we are not happy being second class citizens" said Xavier Caraballosandoz. They feel it is time that they join the union. Yeah there's an ape for that. a new program called Apps for Apes is letting Apes use Ipads for there own entertainment. The apes enjoy playing many games and also love watching YouTube videos online. This program will keep there mental stimulation up which will keep them from becoming depressed.

Celebrities for sale.Many celebrities are selling there faces and there endorsement for products across the us. Ronald Reagan once promoted Chesterfield cigarettes. Eli Manning once promoted a high fat breakfast sandwich from Dunking doughnuts. Micheal Phelps promotes rice crispy treats and frosted flakes. How do you think the world of advertising will change in the future? Do you think its wrong for celebrities to do that today? In my opinion it is the persons decision on whether on not they sell there face and or body. If i were a celebrity i would think carefully about what i advertised.

Fahrenheit 451

         This is a story that i am reading a in language arts class. it starts out with Montag burning some books at 451 degrees Fahrenheit. Then on his walk home he met a girl named Clarice she is a strange girl who likes strange things. It is hinted that she definitley read books.
       in my opinion Montag (without being judgemental)  flirts with this young girl in a sweet innocent way. Montag also clearly states that a war is going on because there are bombers bombing things. He walks in his house and sees Mildred passed out on the floor and an empty bottle of drugs not far from her. It is made clear that she attempted drug overdose, which is a form of suicide. He calls the 9-11 or equivalent to that and they come and pump her stomach then leave. the next day she does not even know she attempted to kill herself, which shows how dumb she really is.
